Audit Services helps Portland center catch up after summer celebration

As centers get ready for summer programs, back-to-school, and continue with their amazing efforts to live our service values, a group of Audit Services team members lent a helping hand to our teachers and directors at the West Union KinderCare.

The team wanted to help in any way the center needed. So how did Ann Calkins, Emily Grassman, Doreen Lee, Carrie Sullwold and Liana Miyamoto accomplish this?

First, they rolled up their sleeves and helped the Assistant Director scrub down the center’s kitchen and performed a deep clean of their refrigerator – the day after the center’s celebration, an event that drew nearly 400 people. Then, the helpers delivered snacks to the excited school-aged children, and classroom supplies were delivered to teachers, while captivating the entire preschool class with a fun and unique rendition of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

“It was a fantastic gift and a gigantic blessing,” said West Union Center Director Heidi Cusworth. “We’re tight-staffed right now, and to be all caught up on cleaning after the party was super helpful. They took that off my plate – I didn’t know that I needed help, but it really did help our center so much!”

Next up: Audit Services will visit two more Portland centers to continue to support our directors and teachers as they make our centers even more warm and welcoming!
