On Monday, April 24, our newest KinderCare Learning Center opened its doors to children and families in Omaha. West Dodge KinderCare, a brand-new building and the second KinderCare center to open in 2017, celebrated with families, staff, and community members at their Grand Opening on Saturday, April 29.

“We’re honored to serve the Omaha community, and proud to provide parents and children in Omaha with high-quality early learning and care,” said Cheslee Escobedo, regional vice president. “We know we have a stake in the future of Omaha, and I’m so excited for KinderCare to be a part of this community.”

Kids had the chance to experience West Dodge KinderCare’s custom sensory lobby wall and Book Nook, and enjoyed fun activities and a special appearance from Clifford.

City Councilwoman Aimee Melton, who represents Omaha’s 7th district (including the West Dodge neighborhood), gave remarks.

“This is what families in this area need, and what our city needs,” said Aimee. “These children are our future, and I’m thrilled to be here to celebrate your opening today!”

District Leader JT Talkington kicked off the center’s big reveal moment. Children flipped a larger-than-life light switch, illuminating a stage with the words “Learning Lights Up at KinderCare” – marking the official opening of the new center.

“Our center has been open for one week, and it’s been such a joy to see children and families meeting one another and

their teachers for the first time,” said JT. “We’re happy to have your family here today with our KinderCare family.”

Center Director Jewel Miller and her team of talented teachers gave tours and greeted families in the lobby of their brand-new center.

Throughout the month of April, KinderCare made a splash at community events leading up to the center’s opening. JT, Jewel and team mingled with new and expecting mothers at Omaha’s Baby Love Fair, and engaged with prospective families at an egg hunt at the Air & Space Museum.

Hundreds of Omaha families had the opportunity to learn more about KinderCare’s curriculum, our approach to early childhood education, and to meet our talented teachers and center directors from the greater Omaha area.

Welcome to the family, West Dodge!
