Last Thursday, 14 confident young women strutted their stuff at Girls Inc.’s annual Power of the Purse Gala. Each year, members of the organization’s Girls Council partner with local business leaders, executives and designers to auction off one-of-a-kind handbags to benefit the Girls Inc. program.
Kelsey Troy, KCE’s senior vice president of human resources and community partnerships, teamed up with Kennedy Crawford, an enthusiastic sixth grader and aspiring singer, to design their handbag for the event.
“I could not be more excited about what these girls, the women of the future, will do,” said Kelsey. “I was delighted to be a part of Girls Inc.’s efforts to create a more supportive, inclusive and equitable place for girls to grow up and thrive here in our community.”
KinderCare Education was the presenting sponsor of this year’s Power of the Purse Gala.
