Are six year olds too young to learn about science? Absolutely not! Children under six year of age are at a critical age for cognitive development, and open-ended play can nurture that development and help kids build essential skills.

At KinderCare Education, we know that play is an important building block in a child’s love of learning. That’s why we’re a proud sponsor of the new learning lab for The Art of the Brick exhibit at the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI).

The Art of the Brick features artist Nathan Sawaya’s ambitious LEGO sculptures. The world’s largest display of LEGO art ever features original pieces of art as well as re-imagined versions of some of the world’s most famous masterpieces. The exhibit will also feature a “PacNW Pride” building area, where children and adults alike can reconstruct Oregon’s landmarks and cityscapes.

We’re excited to partner with OMSI as they continue their focus on Early Childhood Education. We’re inviting KCE employees to share their favorite memories from OMSI. Tell us why they can’t wait to go back and explore, or maybe visit for the first time. Post your story to our Yammer group for your chance to win tickets for you and your family!
