Earlier this year we welcomed the Patty Jischke Early Care and Education Center to our KinderCare at Work family. The center, located on Purdue University’s campus in West Lafayette, Ind., was once a Bright Horizons center, but joined KinderCare at Work in a nearly seamless transition last fall. (Read more about that switch here.)
Now Purdue families have a second
center on campus – the brand new Purdue University Early Care and Education Center.
“The center is fantastic,” said Nyssa Bradford, KinderCare Education’s client relations business partner for Purdue. “Our Purdue client worked closely with the architect to make sure the center is not only beautiful, but functional too. The building was designed to be the best environment for children. It’ll be a wonderful school for Purdue families and staff for years to come.”
The new building was designed with teachers and children in mind. It’s spacious and filled with light and features some special extras like an indoor gross motor room for children to explore, conference rooms for parent meetings, and a staff lounge for teachers to enjoy during their breaks. Even the playground received special treatment: Play structures like
tunnels and climbing walls look like they’re part of the landscape.
Parents in West Lafayette want early childhood education, but there aren’t enough centers to meet their needs. This new center, which reached 75 percent capacity within the first month of opening, and which is Purdue’s first childcare center to accommodate school-age students, should go a long way toward meeting that need.
Welcome to KinderCare Education Purdue Children’s Center!
