Last weekend, hundreds of KinderCare Education employees and their families gathered at Providence Park for the company’s annual Summer Picnic. Families were greeted by friendly faces as they entered the gates and soon after had the chance to have their picture taken in a fun photo booth or snap a selfie. The expansive field, usually home to the Portland Timbers, was lined with games for both kids and adults ranging from mini-golf to soccer to corn hole.
“My family and I had so much fun at the Summer Picnic! We loved how there was something for everyone. From the snacks, to the activities and raffle prizes, you name it! KCE knows how to celebrate their employees!” said Manager of HR Total Rewards Heather Dodge.
As the sun beamed, families laughed and played in the park, stopping to listen to CEO Tom Wyatt who gave opening remarks, noting that employees should use the day to reflect on what they’ve accomplished together and enjoy the time with one another and their families.
Some employees and their families are already looking forward to next year’s summer festivities.
“My family and I had a great time at the picnic,” said Director of IT Rob Ferguson. “Before we left for the day, my daughter turned to me and said, ‘Next summer, if we’re double booked on the day of the picnic, I don’t care what the other thing is, cancel it. We’re going to the picnic!’”
