Eight years ago Ana Egger was an assistant loan writer at a Bay Area bank. Then the recession hit and she was laid off. Instead of feeling discouraged, Egger used her newfound free time to find a job that better suited her passion for children and education. She landed a job in the KinderCare regional office assisting the Northern California District Manager team which led to the regional executive assistant job in 2010.
“I’m not a teacher, but I enjoy teaching and training,” said Egger. “KinderCare was a natural fit for my passion.”
In her eight years with the company Egger’s learned plenty of technical and communication skills like being clear and concise and, most importantly, to listen.
“Ana is a one in a million EA and person,” said District Manager Kelly Wagman. “No matter what our need is Ana always takes care of us. I honestly don’t know what I’d do without her. Anytime I call Ana she drops whatever she is doing and immediately supports us in our needs. Ana is gracious, kind, and supportive. I can’t imagine chasing information from 14 District Managers, but she does [it] with such patience and understanding.”
“Whenever I need anything she is one of the first people I go to,” said District Manager Ian Ippolito. “She’s always quick to assist and get back to us. One of the best things about Ana is that she is so genuinely nice. She’s happy when we do well and is quick to offer support when we’re struggling. I can’t imagine my KinderCare world without Ana!”
“Ana is one of the kindest people I know,” said Terry Louwerens, District Manager. “She is supportive to the whole District Manager team and goes out of her way to take care of each one of us. She remembers every comment and preference that people have and always does her best to accommodate everyone’s needs. She is a clear communicator and does not hesitate to reach out to District Managers when she has questions. Ana is an absolute Joy to work with!”
One area in which Egger excels is in building relationships with her team. Her respect for Regional Vice President Brian Cuda and his District Manager team is apparent in everything she does.
“Ana is one of the most kind-hearted people I have ever met,” said District Manager Charlotte Deschenes. “She care deeply about what she does and the people [who] work with her.”
“She has taken the time to get to know things that make each one of us special, but also what makes us work as a team,” said Andrea Balian, District Manager.
“Ana is the best!” said Amie Allman, District Manager. “Her dedication and hard work is truly exceptional. She goes above and beyond for us and takes the time to get to know us and shows that she genuinely cares. I just couldn’t imagine KinderCare without Ana she embodies all we strive to be and lives our service values every day!”
“She is one of the most genuine people I have worked with,” said District Manager Sandi Contreras. “She is hardworking, dedicated, and really one of the nicest people you will ever meet. Ana is truly the glue that holds our region together.”
“Ana is one of a kind,” said Sandra Painter, District Manager. “She is not only brilliant, she is kind, generous, and gives all of her time to our region.”
“Ana is truly the oil that keeps the West engine running,” said Felisha Morton, District Manager. “She is the most hard-working, compassionate, and thoughtful person I have had the pleasure to work with. She always makes time to help whenever and however she can. We would not be nearly as successful as we are without her!”
Once the workday is done Egger heads home to her husband and four-year-old son. An avid runner – she competed in half marathons prior to her son’s birth, and was ranked in the top three in her class for some time – Egger and her son now run 5k races together. Well, Egger runs. Her sons encourages her with “Faster Mommy, faster!” from the comfort of his stroller, but she hopes he’ll run with her someday soon.
