In early February, Texas KinderCare leaders visited Austin, the state capital for Legislative Action Day.
District Managers Susie O’Dell, Cherie King and Joe Cardaropoli were joined by several of their coworkers from Knowledge Universe, including Elisa Shepherd and Kristine Evertz-Phillips from Government Relations, and Racquel Washington from Quality and Accreditation. Center Directors from Austin, San Antonio, Bryan, College Station, and Dallas/Fort Worth also joined the KU group.
“We spent the day meeting our legislators and encouraging partnerships with private providers like KinderCare when [the state] expands Public PreK in the fall,” said Susie O’Dell, one of the district managers who participated in the event. “We made great connections and invited [the legislators] to our centers to see quality pre-k in action. The day was a huge success!”
Today, employees from the National Support Center are visiting Salem, the capital of KU’s home state of Oregon, for Oregon Lobby Day. Stay tuned to ONE for more information about their visit.
