It’s not every day someone gets a letter from the president. But kids at West Palm Beach, Florida, CCLC recently got some impressive correspondence from the leader of the free world.
“Our School-Agers wrote letters to President Obama in February when they were discussing presidents past and present,” said Center Director Sharon Alaimo.
In total, 14 letters were sent from CCLC kids. Like many other people in the world, they sought aid from the president, but unexpectedly they requested it in the forms of money, help with chores and free ice cream.
“I sent the package of letters to the White House with a note expressing that these were the ‘voices of the future,’” said Sharon.
A couple of months later, in April, the center received a package from the White House.
“We were so excited. Inside was a personalized letter from the White House with the White House Seal on it expressing the pride and dedication they felt about our children. Included were pictures of the president and his family. Our School-Agers just about fell on the floor when I read the letter and showed them the pictures. They felt so special and proud,” shared Sharon.
