Charmaine always puts children first, explained Area Manager Amy Harmon in her nomination letter. Throughout her five years with Champions she consistently exemplifies respect for all children and makes each child feel valued and special. Amy noted proudly that Charmaine should be video-taped for a training video, as an example of great teacher-child interactions.

Charmaine’s relationships extend beyond the children to their families. She knows parents’ names, occupations, and other tidbits of information. Her interest helps her to connect with each family on a personal level. Parents feel the difference and respond with gratitude for Charmaine’s exceptional service, as one parent explains below:

She is a nurturing and kindhearted individual who goes over and above her duties to ensure not only that the children are learning and safe, but that the parents feel the same security and comfort. It is the small things that she does that make her stand out from others…The consistency in Charmaine’s behavior speaks a lot about her character. Many parents that I have encountered feel so thankful that Charmaine is there to watch and guide their children during the hours that they are away. We cannot express our gratitude for the kind of exceptional service and professionalism this individual provides to us and for us.

One of Charmaine’s greatest talents is her ability to foster an environment where learning and fun can go hand in hand. Children in her program thrive, both academically and socially, because Charmaine provides an incredible balance between the two. Her positive attitude, organization, self-direction, and strong teaching skills make her a role model among our team, and she approaches her staff and the school administration with the same warm regard that she holds for parents and children.

Congratulations, Charmaine! Thank you for all that you do every day.
