By now you’re familiar with our Care Select program. You know it benefits children by providing additional opportunities for them to have access to our high-quality early education programs. You also know the benefits our centers and sites have when they’re full of children learning together. But what about the intangible benefits like building relationships? A pair of New Jersey Center Directors recently took a passing comment made at a benefits fair for a Care Select client and turned it in to an opportunity to not only help out, but to also strengthen their relationship with the client.
“Last week Debi [Agabiti, Center Director at KinderCare 301520] and I went to a benefits fair for one of our Child Care Select companies Sanofi Aventis,” said Branchburg KinderCare Center Director Danielle Zakowski. “Through the meet-and-greet session we spoke to another woman who’s invovled in sending care packages to U.S. troops overseas. Since we have military programs as well, Debi and I thought it would be great to get involved. We put together a care package of KinderCare-branded pens, pencils, pads of paper, and bandages and shipped them off last week. It’s a great way to let the troops know KinderCare supports them and gives them the means to write home!”
The Sanofi Aventis employee was so impressed with Danielle and Debi’s gesture of support that she wrote a thank you letter:
I want to thank you for giving the care package for our project that we have here to send items to our soldiers overseas. I was very touched that not only did you send a few extra notepads as we discussed, but that you also included pens, pencils and Band-Aids. They are all on our list of items we collect…[and] so useful.
Thank you again for your kindness. Have a wonderful and happy holiday season.
